On Friday, within the scope of the working visit to Kirovohrad region, Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, visited the State Flight Academy in Kirovohrad, where he attended the flight training center and was informed about the technical equipment of this education institution.
V.Lytvyn stated that the academy was the only establishment in Ukraine that trained the pilots, and it was necessary to train the students at the modern equipment. V.Lytvyn also stressed the importance of State assistance of this education establishment.
Reporting on the technical infrastructure of the academy, the rector stated that 1,5 thousand students from 30 countries were currently enrolled. Since the moment of foundation, expert pilots from 66 countries have been trained there.
Answering the students´ questions, V.Lytvyn stressed that country´s own fleet and aviation were one of the characteristics of it as a State. He deems necessary to create the conditions, under which the students will obtain practical skills of piloting, as "there is a lack of theoretical knowledge in this field".
The rector of the academy addressed the Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine with a request to facilitate adoption of the State program on development of education establishments specialized in the training of flight personnel, and render assistance in the re-equipment of the flight academy with modern training simulators. The leaders of the academy also suggested that V.Lytvyn headed the supervisory board of the establishment.
